Women Air Racers: Women in the Fastest Lanes
Many female pilots wanted to challenge themselves by racing their planes at every opportunity. They participated against men during the early 1930s until they were excluded by the fiat of race directors, and then participated in a variety of all-woman cross country races during the rest of that decade, and after World War II all the way up to the present day.
Women Air Racer will explore the stories of the women pilots who flew, and continue to fly, in the fastest lanes.
